I must admit…

I must admit that all the rhetoric spewed by the non Global Warming Believers is really damaging. It’s damaging to the children growing up that know no better and begin to repeat what they hear. It’s damaging because they get more “air time” than those that do believe that the worlds climate has been altered by man and his quest for the “ultimate” in comfort. It’s damaging because the people that have the decision making power then to listen with their wallets rather than their ears. It’s damaging because their inactivity is actually perpetuating, nay exacerbating the situation.

We just went through a heck of a week here in Virginia with the rain and Tornadoes. People died. Property was destroyed all because of a Tornado. And then after the Tornado we had four days of really heavy rain. Trees were felled, cars sunk into sinkholes and more people died. And then in China I heard the 12,000 people were killed in that massive earthquake they just had. It was the worst they have experienced in over 30 years. My wife says that the death count has actually risen to 25,000, I still have not confirmed that. 12,000 dead was bad enough. It’s almost like a bad dream. When I was growing up all the doom sayers talked about how man was going to self destruct, that we were going to pollute the earth so much that it would become a barren land uninhabitable by humans. It sure seems like we are heading in that direction.

Bloggers Unite

Regarding the Bloggers for Human Rights Day scheduled for tomorrow, forget about weather of not your opinion is going to make a difference, it really is but for now just forget about that. That should not be the motivator. The thing that should be motivating you is all the injustice that is going on in the world. I don’t think it was you that dumped toxic waste into our waterways, was it? I don’t think it was you that started the war in Iran or Afghanistan, was it? There is something honorable about doing good deeds and not wanting to be recognized for it. But there comes a time when we, as individuals, must take a stand and let everyone know how we feel. Do you really think the Civil Rights Marchers really wanted to get their heads busted in, or be sicked dogs on, or get hosed down with high pressure fire hoses? I think not. But they did it for the greater good. As a result of the stand they took back then many people today, not only African Americans, but many other to, are reaping the benefits. Tomorrow is the day set for all bloggers to unite for human rights. isn’t there some unjust, or civil calamity that you can write about that will make you feel better, that will make you feel as you participated in the collective struggle to better the world? The more positive energy we humans expound, the more positive energy the universe will bestow on us. And brother (and sister) we need some positive energy after these eight years of Georgie W. Bush.

Make a difference, post a blog.
